Research activities at the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science (NVH) cover a wide range of topics, and include both high-level basic and applied research. NVH shall promote curiosity-driven, basic and applied research at an international level within a broad scope of veterinary and biomedical sciences. NVH aims to be at the forefront of international research in the field of aquatic medicine, and to secure international standing in certain areas of livestock health, companion animal health, food safety, veterinary pre and paraclinical courses, ecosystem health, game health and issues related to experimental animals.
NVH focuses on continuously improving the quality of its research, and aims to allocate more resources to research purposes. In order to achieve these goals, NVH will place more emphasis on internationalisation of research, strengthen the school’s scientific and administrational management, further develop strategic research alliances and its cooperation with stakeholders in the livestock, aquaculture and fisheries sectors, thus enabling a more efficient utilisation of research resources. It is furthermore important to redirect certain resources in order to meet the challenges faced by a changing society in general, and within the field of veterinary science specifically.
