The Laboratory for Comparative Animal Welfare Studies opens on Nov. 2nd.
The new laboratory, located at 3rd. floor, building 11 on NVH, will offer support to the Norwegian School of Veterinary Science Animal Welfare Initiative and collaborators.
Our laboratory has the capability to conduct automated behavioural data collection. We also have competence in developing and validating biomarkers to assess animal welfare in different species. 31.10.07

Collaboration on better animal welfare
The animal welfare research groups at UMB and NVH have started a more systematic collaboration. This was marked with a kick-off seminar at UMB on September 3rd. 2007.

We were awarded a grant (seed money) with our colleagues from Denmark, Finland and Sweeden to develop a core facility (MRI) to study brain function and animal welfare.
